FIRST TIME BUYERS
 The following information is for first time buyers of ready to process livestock. By ready to process we mean that the particular animal that you select is at marketing weight and is ready for slaughter. In the next paragraph or so, we will detail how the purchase, transporting, processing, and pickup works.
STEP ONE is what we call "pig purchase". This is where you select the pig that you would like to buy. If you are the type that would have a hard time picking an animal for slaughter, we can select a nice pig for you. Either way, you arrange a purchase of an animal with us. This is the point of sale. We accept cash and credit cards.
STEP TWO is what we call "animal transport". If you plan to transport the livestock from our farm to the slaughter house, skip this step. If you are not sure, keep reading. This is where either you or us transports the animal to the butcher. At this point in time the animal is owned by you. You can transport the animal to the slaughter house if you like. If not we can delivery your animal to a few selected local slaughter houses. The method of transport is up to you. If we deliver the animal to the slaughter house for you, the animal is presented and registered in your name. It is under your name because technically the animal is yours. Your information will be given to the slaughter house, and you will be liable for the slaughtering charge.
STEP THREE is what we call the "animal processing". This is when the slaughter house does its thing. They slaughter the animal, professionally package it, and freeze it.
STEP FOUR is what we call the "product pick-up". If you had us deliver the animal to the slaughter house, this will be the first and only time that you will have to go there. You go to the slaughter house and pay the slaughtering charge. They will give you your processed meat.
NOTE: The slaughter house is not a scary place. It is no different than going to the market and buying groceries. You are not going to see anything disturbing. You will enter the office, pay for your products, load it into the car, and head home. That’s all there is to it.
